A Hallabong and Hanbok Creative Shoot

November 15, 2021

Jeju Island: South Korea's largest island; home to many people, volcanic mountains, and Hallabong trees. Driving through the island is like driving in a never-ending dream. From being able to see the tallest mountain in South Korea from any part of the island to smelling the sweet, rich flavor of Hallabongs.
Specifically, Hallabong or 한라봉 is a citrus fruit similar to tangerines, yet, has a sweeter and richer taste than regular citruses. The locals on the island and visitors never get tired of this hybrid citrus.

What was supposed to be a vacation in Jeju was turned into a field of imagination and creativity.

Shown through the shots above, Inae wanted to express her creative ideas and mindset. Spontaneously, this project was created through Inae's eagerness to exhibit her hanbok bottom skirt and the hallabong fruits.

Inae had thought about this idea when she could not find the top she thought she had packed paired to go with her black skirt. She noted to bring out the look of a hanbok, a traditional Korean outfit. Which would then have the skirt resemble hanbok bottom skirts or a 한복 치마 that are worn from the upper chest below. Without the top and the new placement of the skirt, the outfit brought out a modern appeal.

Residing in the heart of Jeju, it was definite to bring in hallabong fruits into the shoot. Each chosen still helped determine the final color hue for each individual photo. While each shot has a different blend of color hues, this helped bring out the captured emotions Inae wanted her photos to portray.
